Gondola Ride
The Gondola Ride in Venice is a must for romantics. For sure the best way to collect your gondolas is by yourself, contracting a litlle bit the rate with the gondoliers directly. They usually can charge from Euro 70,00 to Euro 100,00 (total cost per ride up to 4-6 people) depending on the tourist season, lenght of the ride (from 30 min. to 60 min.) and time when you collect the gondola. You may find some company that usually organize groups gondola serenades (avoid that!) as at the same price you can collect one just for you without serenade but alone (much more romantic!!!).
I personally suggest you to collect the gondola during the sunset or the evening times (not winter times! as can be very cold).

Private Water Taxi
BE AWARE: Water taxis in Venice are really very expensive!!. Obviously they are very expensive because if you arrive in Venice with luggages, if you need to reach the airport, the best way it's to collect a water taxi, they are faster then public trasportation, they can pick you up more or less everywhere in Venice. You don't need to use this kind of service while visiting Venice,better to walk as if you like to walk you can reach all the parts of Venice.
Overhere you can find the price list provided by Public Council of Venice, the fares that they SHOULD apply.......unfortunately they usually work with fixed prices and the Council doesn't seem to care too much about that.....
